About the conference
Conference environment "Environment 2050" Is the conference that has been leading the current discourse on environmental issues for the past 20 years and brings together all the elements of government, industry, green organizations and civil society, which affect Israel's economy and the quality of life in it.
As every year, the conference proves to be a key and strategic factor that encourages and leads processes, assists in policy formulation and is the main stage for the environmental discourse in Israel.
The conference takes place after the climate conference in Glasgow, which hosted the 26th annual session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Accordingly, the subtitle of this year's Environment Conference 2050 is: Climate Crisis - Innovation, Policy, Economy and Society. Emphasis will be placed on the conclusions of the conference that Israel intends to implement in government policy and on the voluntary conduct of companies and organizations.
The conference will focus on the regulatory, economic and environmental aspects of the steps required to address the climate crisis and the need to prepare for its consequences (Adaptation) and to select effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Mitigation).
We will examine the preparations for reducing emissions and dealing with damage in several key areas: setting and implementing national policies and strategies, carbon tax, industry integration in international trends, energy policies, innovative technological solutions, consumerism, recycling and waste reduction and the business-economic sector. The seats will be divided into sectors of decision makers, industry sectors, the green business sector, the business economic sector and the startup and innovation sector.

Dr. Haran serves, among other things, as a director at ICL and MAI and as chairman of the Center for Resource Efficiency. In the past, Dr. Haran served as the head of the specialization in environmental management at the Ono Academic Campus and as the director general of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Dr. Haran holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Brandeis University and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
