About the conference

The prosperity of many countries and their security are related to the maritime space in their region. For several decades, maritime space has been in the process of a substantial geopolitical and environmental change. Demographic growth and rising living standards are increasing the pressure on sea areas in order to discover and generate resources.

In light of these challenges and conflicts, the field of the blue economy has developed, expressing the need to realize the great economic potential inherent in the marine space in an intelligent and sustainable manner, while balancing and committing to minimizing the damage to marine ecology and conserving marine resources for future generations.

The European Union has marked the maritime economy as an important se.gment of the national economy of neighboring countries and an important component of the international economy, and in doing so, has promoted with UFM-United for Mediterranean a joint initiative to build a blue growth strategy for eastern and southern Mediterranean countries

The blue economy which is also called "The Blue Groth"policy was adopted by the State of Israel and implemented in the policy document for the management of Israel's maritime space, which was approved at the end of 2019
